[English] Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) is associated with developmental alteration in the structure and clinic of the enamel of all teeth. This condition may be associated with morphological and biochemical changes in other areas of the body. The present investigation aims to analyze the efficacy of composite resin veneers and porcelain veneers in patients with AI. A literature review of original research articles and academic journals with a high impact factor between the period of 2017 to 2024 was performed. There are currently several therapeutic guidelines that recommend the implementation of various indirect as well as direct techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with IA. Composite resin veneer restorations have been recommended to mask discoloration and improve dental esthetics. It is also a favorable treatment option for partially erupted teeth. On the other hand, porcelain veneers have had greater longevity of treatment because of their greater resistance to wear or fracture. It can be concluded that the selection of the type of material for the rehabilitation of patients with AI should take into account: the type of AI and severity, the longevity of the treatment, the age of the patient and the esthetic demand.
