[English] Dental fluorosis is a common disorder caused by excessive intake of fluoride during tooth development. The consequences that this causes in the aesthetic field can negatively affect the oral health and quality of life of patients, having lasting psychosocial effects. In addition, it can cause susceptibility to carious lesions, tooth sensitivity and increased tooth wear. There are various classification indices for dental fluorosis, however the most widely used is the Thylstrup and Fejerskov index, which classifies fluoride involvement according to its severity. Depending on the severity of this condition, different treatment options can be considered for its management, such as microabrasion, tooth whitening, application of infiltrative resin and the placement of veneers and crowns.
