[Español] El objetivo de esta investigación es determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el esquema de vacunación de los padres que acuden al centro de vacunación del Hospital General Dr. Vinicio Calventi, en el periodo mayo-junio 2025. El estudio fue cuantitativo de tipo observacional de corte transversal, prospectivo en una muestra de 136 padres mayores de 18 años recopilando datos sociodemográficos y preguntas clave relacionadas con la vacunación. La mayoría de los participantes fueron mujeres (83.9 %), con edades entre 19 y 30 años (52.6 %). En cuanto al nivel educativo, el 54.1 % tenía bachillerato y el 24.4 % nivel universitario. El 63.24% de los encuestados afirmaron conocer el esquema de vacunación de su hijo o hija y el 61.5% pudo identificar correctamente las vacunas que le son administradas. El 68.4% demostró saber las enfermedades y el 58.8% reconoció cuáles vacunas corresponden según la edad. Aunque el 97.1% considera que las vacunas previenen enfermedades y el 90.4% las percibe como seguras, un 64.7% cree erróneamente que curan enfermedades Los médicos fueron la principal fuente de información (72.1%). Los resultados evidencian un conocimiento parcial, destacando la necesidad de fortalecer la educación en salud.
[English] The objective of this research is to determine the level of knowledge about the vaccination schedule among parents who attend the vaccination center at the Dr. Vinicio Calventi General Hospital, during the period May–June 2025. This was a quantitative, observational, crosssectional, and prospective study conducted with a sample of 136 parents over 18 years old. Sociodemographic data and key questions related to vaccination were collected. The majority of participants were women (83.9%), aged between 19 and 30 years (52.6%). Regarding educational level, 54.1% had completed high school and 24.4% had a university degree. A total of 63.24% of respondents reported knowing the vaccination schedule of their child, and 61.5% were able to correctly identify the vaccines being administered. Additionally, 68.4% knew the diseases that vaccines prevent, and 58.8% recognized which vaccines correspond to their child’s age. Although 97.1% believe that vaccines prevent diseases and 90.4% perceive them as safe, 64.7% mistakenly believe that vaccines cure diseases. Doctors were the main source of information (72.1%). The results show a partial level of knowledge, highlighting the need to strengthen health education.
