[Español] Los profesionales de la salud deben velar por el bienestar de los pacientes y en su labor se exponen largas horas de trabajo, estrés y en ocasiones arriesgan la salud de ellos mismos y la de sus familias. Este estudio se centra en comprobar si existe una correlación estadísticamente significativa entre el uso de estrategias de afrontamiento y la resiliencia en profesionales de la salud. Para ello, se tomó una muestra de 24 participantes, docentes de la una universidad de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. Para medir la resiliencia y las estrategias de afrontamiento se utilizaron dos instrumentos, la Escala de Resiliencia de 14 ítems (RS14) y el Inventario de Estrategias de Afrontamiento (CSI). Esta investigación encontró que la resolución de problemas es la estrategia de afrontamiento que guarda una correlación significativa positivamente de nivel medio con la resiliencia.
[English] Health professionals must ensure the well-being of people and along their duty they are exposed to long hours and stress, sometimes risking the health of themselves and their families. This study focuses on verifying whether there is a statistically significant correlation between the use of coping strategies and resilience in health professionals. For this, a sample of 24 participants, teachers from a university in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was taken. Two instruments were used to measure resilience and coping strategies, the 14-item Resilience Scale (RS14) and the Coping Strategies Inventory (CSI). This research found that problem solving is the coping strategy that has a positively significant medium-level correlation with resilience.
