[English] This project aims to establish what were the factors that determined the survival of patients intoxicated by paraquat in the Hospital General Dr. Vinicio Calventi in the period from January 2021 to January 2022. Se conducted an observational, descriptive, retrospective study, with a universe of 376 patients who attended the internal medicine emergency, of which 14 patients were diagnosed with paraquat poisoning. The most affected sex was the male sex with a percentage of 71.4%. The most frequent circumstances that led patients to exposure with this herbicide were 21.4 % corresponding to couple conflicts, 29% due to accidental causes, 36% due to unspecified causes. The factors that determined the survival of the patients depended basically on the dose ingested and the time between the intake of the poison and the arrival at the hospital center. The doses according to the 12 patients who were intoxicated with paraquat by the oral route, where amounts between 2-7.5 ml constitute mild intoxication was found 2 patients corresponding to 14.2%, by ingestion of contaminated fruits we had 2 patients corresponding to 14.2% and those who were intoxicated with an unspecified dose were 8 patients equal to 57.1% of which 4 were discharged and 4 patients died. Also, the patients who came to the emergency in a period less than 6 hours were 8 of which 100% were discharged in stable health conditions.
