Abstract
[Español] El propósito de este estudio es determinar si existe una relación entre los rasgos psicopáticos adaptativos, la empatía percibida, la basada en desempeño y la alexitimia. La psicopatía adaptativa se define como aquellas cualidades interpersonales y afectivas de la persona con psicopatía, que favorecen el apto funcionamiento, que responde a los lineamientos pautados por la sociedad. La empatía es la habilidad de comprender los estados emocionales y necesidades de quienes nos rodean, en comparación con las de uno mismo y la alexitimia es la incapacidad para identificar y describir los sentimientos, también se ha asociado con la empatía, la psicopatía y el comportamiento criminal e impulsivo. La investigación se llevó a cabo con 102 participantes que completaron los siguientes instrumentos: The Durand Adaptive Psychopathic Traits Questionnaire, Interpersonal Reactivity Index, la escala de Alexitimia de Toronto-20 y el Pictorial Empathy Test. Dentro de los resultados, encontramos que sí existe correlación entre la psicopatía adaptativa, la empatía y la alexitimia. Estos resultados contribuyen a la comunidad psicológica en cuanto a la comprensión del comportamiento empático en distintos contextos.
[English] The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a relationship between adaptive psychopathic traits, perceived empathy, performance-based empathy, and alexithymia. Adaptive psychopathy is defined as those interpersonal and affective qualities of the person with psychopathy, which favor proper functioning, which responds to the guidelines established by society. Empathy is the ability to understand the emotional states and needs of those around us, compared to oneself and alexithymia is the inability to identify and describe feelings, it has also been associated with empathy, psychopathy and behavior criminal and impulsive. The research was carried out with 102 participants who completed the following instruments: The Durand Adaptive Psychopathic Traits Questionnaire, Interpersonal Reactivity Index, the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 and the Pictorial Empathy Test. Among the results, we found that there is a correlation between adaptive psychopathy, empathy and alexithymia. These results contribute to the psychological community in terms of understanding empathic behavior in different contexts.
