[English] This study evaluated the impact of a single-session psychoeducational intervention on knowledge and motivations toward alcohol consumption among university students at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE). A quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test design with a 30day follow-up was used, without a control group. The sample consisted of 16 university students between the ages of 18 and 25 (68.75% women, 31.25% men) who had consumed alcohol in the last 30 days. The Drinking Motives Questionnaire-Revised (DMQ-R) was used to measure the motives for alcohol consumption. The psychoeducational intervention lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes and included presentations on the effects of alcohol, myths and realities of consumption, identification of personal patterns, and risk reduction strategies. The data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA. The results indicated that, although there was a numerical increase in DMQ-R scores from pre-intervention (M = 36.938, SD = 21.855) to post-intervention (M = 43.875, SD = 17.981), this change did not reach statistical significance (F (2,30) = 1.625, p = .214) At the 30-day follow-up. The findings suggest that the single-session psychoeducational intervention had a limited effect on the immediate and sustained modification of the motives for alcohol consumption in this population. Multi-session interventions and randomized controlled designs are recommended for future research.
