[English] Introduction: Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a disease characterized by the presence of eosinophilic inflammation in the esophageal mucosa, which causes symptoms such as dysphagia, chest pain and regurgitation. Method: Observational, cross-sectional, descriptive study that seeks to determine the clinical-endoscopic characteristics of patients diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis at Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud from 2015-2022. Results: The prevalence of Eosinophilic Esophagitis in the period 2015-2022 was 0.06%. Regarding sex, 69% of the patients were female, and 31% male. In the study of origin, 15 patients came from urban areas, representing 94%, while 1 patient belonged to rural areas, representing 6%. Dysphagia represented the most common symptom in patients diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis with 37.50%. Of the patients diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis, 13 patients presented erythematous gastropathy as an endoscopic finding, representing 81.25%. In relation to the allergic history, 1 patient presented allergy to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), representing a 6.25. It was evidenced that 2 patients denied a family history of this disease, representing 12.5%, while the records of 14 patients did not establish whether or not this family history existed, representing 87.5%. Discussion: It is shown that Eosinophilic Esophagitis represents a disease that, although its incidence has been of concern in recent decades, continues to have a low prevalence. Conclusion: Through the analysis of the data, important achievements have been obtained that contribute to the understanding of this chronic esophagus disease.
