Santo Swing : bar & discoteca

Abstract

[Español] En esta época donde las personas son libres de ser quienes son y de amar a quien quieran, la comunidad necesita un lugar para reunirse y celebrar quienes son sin temor a ser discriminados. Trece de los veinte bares inclusivos a la comunidad LGTBQIA+ de la ciudad de Santo Domingo están en la Ciudad Colonial, y ninguno está abierto en el Polígono Central. Con nuestro proyecto buscamos brindarles ese espacio seguro. Pero no sólo eso, queremos darles un lugar elegante, donde no sientan que tienen algo que esconder y puedan ser los mismos. Para asegurar que este espacio responda a las verdaderas necesidades de la comunidad, se realizó una encuesta adicional que nos permitió identificar a fondo el público objetivo y sus requerimientos. Además, tomar como referente una encuesta realizada por la ONU en 2020. Santo Swing será un bar-discoteca en Santo Domingo que fusiona los estilos art déco y maximalista, creando un entorno contemporáneo y diverso. Inspirado por el compromiso de combatir el estigma hacia la comunidad LGBTQIA+, este bar pretende ser un santuario de celebración artística y cultural, utilizando materiales como vidrio, acero y acabados modernos que reflejan su estilo. Además, Santo Swing integrará una línea gráfica representativa, consolidando su identidad como un espacio de inclusión y expresión. Con este enfoque, el proyecto aspira a redefinir el concepto de entretenimiento nocturno en Santo Domingo, ofreciendo una experiencia visual y sensorial única.[English] In this day and age where people are free to be who they are and to love who they love, the community needs a place where they can meet up and celebrate who they are without fear of being discriminated against. 13 of the 20 LGBTQIA+ inclusive bars of Santo Domingo City are in the Colonial City, and none are open in the Central Polygon. With our project we look forward to providing them with that safe space. But not only that, we want to give them an elegant space, where they don’t feel like they have something to hide and where they can be themselves. 01 To ensure this space addresses the true needs of the community, an additional survey was conducted, alowing us to thoroughly identify the target audience and their requirements. Additionaly, we took into account a survey conducted by the UN in 2020. Santo Swing wil be a bar-nightclub in Santo Domingo that fuses art Deco and maximalist styles, creating a contemporary and diverse environment. Inspired by the commitment to combat stigma against the LGBTQIA+ community, this bar aims to be a sanctuary of artistic and cultural celebration, utilizing materials such as glass, steel, and modern finishes that reflect its style. Additiona ly, Santo Swing wil incorporate a representative graphic line, consolidating its identity as a space of inclusion and expression. With this approach, the project aspires to redefine the concept of nightlife entertainment in Santo Domingo, offering a unique visual and sensory experience.
