Carpinteros : propuesta de diseño escenográfico

Abstract

[Español] La Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) se ha percatado de la evolución del cine dominicano, ha visto cómo a través de los años esta industria ha crecido sustancialmente. Es por esta razón que, por segunda vez, se hace la entrega del proyecto final de la mención Dirección de Arte para Cine en la cual la Universidad forja profesionales capaces de llevar a cabo producciones de calidad tanto en el país como en el resto del mundo. Este proyecto final, tiene como objetivo elegir una película dominicana y hacerle una adaptación de época o locación para así aportar al cine dominicano una nueva propuesta. La película escogida para dicho proyecto fue Carpinteros por José María Cabral (2018). En esta nueva creación, se produjo un cambio de época, trasladando la historia de Julián en la cárcel a marzo del 2020, cuando el Coronavirus entró a nuestro país, llenándolo de incertidumbre y terror. Este cambio de época ha sido para crear una crítica social, la cual muestra cómo los prisioneros han estado viviendo durante la pandemia, sin recibir el trato necesario.

[English] The University UNIBE has seen how through the years, the Dominican film industry has grown. Needing people who can carry out quality productions both for the country and the rest of the world. This is why they have created the mention of Art Direction for Cinema, so that interior designers can do their bit to support this industry. This department is in charge of designing, coordinating and directing the aesthetics of a film. This final project aims to choose a Dominican film and make an adaptation of the time or location in order to bring a new proposal to the Dominican cinema. The film chosen for this project was Carpinteros by José María Cabral, in this new creation, there was a change of time, moving the story of Julián in prison to March 2020, when the Coronavirus entered our country, filling it with uncertainty and terror. This change of time has been to create a social criticism, where the prisoners were in the dark about what was happening and did not receive the necessary treatment. In order to carry out this project, it is necessary to make a detailed, exhaustive and descriptive investigation about the prisons in the DR and their measures regarding COVID-19 in order to tell the story. Then, it is import ant to create a survey that will support the story you want to tell, it will reveal if it is important to tell the story of Julián at the time of the pandemic.
