[Español] El objetivo de esta investigación fue comparar los resultados iniciales de una investigación realizada en 2018 con los resultados presentes encontrados en este estudio 24 meses después en 2020. Se compararon los niveles de colonización de Cándida Albicans en pacientes que eran candidatos de la investigación previa tomada. El estudio se desarrolló en la Universidad Iberoamericana. Después de comunicarse con los 30 pacientes utilizados en el estudio anterior, solo 7 pudieron participar en el estudio. Se tomaron muestras de la boca y la prótesis de los pacientes con un hisopo estéril. Las muestras se sembraron en CHROMagar y se incubaron durante 48 horas. De los resultados proporcionados, se concluyó que del total de pacientes que ingresaron, el 85% mostró un aumento en el nivel de Cándida Albicans.
[English] The objective of this investigation was to compare the initial results of an investigation conducted in 2018 with the present results found in this study 24 months later in 2020. We compared the levels of colonization of Candida albicans in patients who were candidates of the previous investigation taken place at the Universidad Iberoamericana. After reaching out to the 30 patients used in the previous study, only 7 were able to come in. Samples were taken from the patients mouth and prosthesis with a sterile swab. The samples were seeded in CHROMagar and incubated for 48 hours. From the results given,it was concluded that of the total patients that came in, 85% showed an increase in the level of Candida albican.
