[English] Over the years, people have become more interested in their facial appearance and seek to contemplate the ideal harmony in their smile. Ceramic veneers have become a reliable restorative procedure for the treatment of the anterior sector due to the fact that it is a conservative treatment that allows the aesthetics and functionality of the dental pieces to be restored. There are different minimally invasive carving techniques, however, situations may arise where a less conservative preparation should be performed. The literature describes four preparation designs for anterior veneers, the window preparation, which is the most conservative of the four because only 0.3-0.5mm of enamel is worn away, the pen preparation prepares the incisal edge of the tooth leaving an incisal edge in enamel, this being a bevel preparation of 0.5-1mm and an intra-enamel preparation of 0.3-0.5mm, in the bevel preparation the length of the incisal edge is reduced by 0.5-0.1mm and in the preparation of incisal overlap, in addition to vestibular wear and incisal reduction, it has a palatal chamfer-type preparation, thus reaching a total incisal preparation of 2 mm. The present study seeks to make a comparison between ceramic veneers with conventional and minimally invasive preparation in the anterior sector, with the aim of identifying the different advantages and disadvantages, comparing durability and resistance, and determining the established indications and contraindications.
