Membranas reabsorbibles y membranas no reabsorbibles para el aumento del reborde alveolar

Abstract

[Español] En el campo odontológico suelen acontecer casos que pueden representar la pérdida de huesos alveolar para el paciente. El tratamiento adecuado para la corrección de los defectos asociados a esta problemática es la regeneración ósea guiada con el uso de membranas, cuya técnica ha presentado cambios en la implantología en los últimos 20 años. Por lo que, fue el objetivo de esta revisión el evaluar las membranas reabsorbibles y las no reabsorbibles para el aumento del reborde alveolar. Cada una de los tipos de membranas engloban diversos materiales, de los cuales se discutieron en base a diferentes opiniones emitidas por diversos autores. Siendo, ningún tipo membrana mejor que la otra. Ahora bien, hay se debe destacar que existen membranas que poseen una recuperación más rápida que otras. En donde se concluye que, la efectividad de cada membrana dependerá del manejo que tenga por parte del profesional del área, y también, de la indicación clínica específica del caso.

[English] In the dental field, cases often occur that may represent alveolar bone loss for the patient. The appropriate treatment for the correction of defects associated with this problem is guided bone regeneration with the use of membranes, the technique of which has undergone changes in implantology from the past 20 years; therefore, the objective of this review was to evaluate the resorbable and non-resorbable membranes for the increase of the alveolar ridge. But each of the types of membranes encompasses different materials, of which they were discussed based on different opinions issued by different authors. Being, no membrane type better than the other. However, it should be noted that there are membranes that have a faster recovery than others. Where it is concluded that the effectiveness of each membrane will depend on the management it has by the professional in the area, and also on the specific clinical indication of the case.
