Centro Cultural Ortiz-Auñón : centro cultural en el sector Gazcue

Abstract

[Español] En una comunidad donde el arte local está emergiendo y siendo mucho más valorada, de la mano con el surgimiento de una nueva generación de artistas, se evidencia la existencia de pocos lugares que brinden su espacio para conmemorar el valor cultural promoviendo las distintas disciplinas artísticas que existen en la ciudad de Santo Domingo. Mediante la rehabilitación del ente arquitectónico histórico “Residencia Ramírez García-Godoy” y el rediseño de su interior, se desarrollará un centro cultural en el sector de Gazcue que abra sus puertas a artistas locales, así aportando al desarrollo artístico y cultural dominicano, y contribuyendo al inicio del rescate del olvidado sector histórico.

[English] In a community where local art is emerging and being much more valued, hand in hand with the surge of a new generation of artists, there are very few locations that offer space to commemorate cultural value by promoting different artistic disciplines that exist in the city of Santo Domingo. Through the rehabilitation of the historic architectural entity "Ramírez García-Godoy Residence" and the redesign of its interior, a cultural center will be developed in the Gazcue sector that will open its doors to local artists, thus contributing to the artistic and cultural development of the Dominican Republic, and to hopefully contribute to kickstart the rescue of the forgotten historical sector.
