Apoyo en el proceso de lecto-escritura a niños con discapacidad auditiva: plataforma EducaTED

Abstract

[Español] Según el periódico digital z101digital en una entrevista a la Dra. Ruth Claros-Kartchner, quien se ha dedicado a la educación de las personas sordas en muchos países de Latinoamérica, indicó que el 97% de las personas sordas nacen en hogares oyentes y que existe ese “qué vamos a hacer” con lo relacionado a la educación del niño. Es por esto que, reconociendo que existe una falta de información al respecto, necesitamos intentar implantar una educación temprana en estas personas discapacitadas para que puedan asistir en su derecho a una educación adecuada. En la República Dominicana existían 97,735 mil personas sordas para el año 2013 («Mariana Rondón: Los sordos queremos ser independientes, no somos vagos, queremos mejorar», 2018). En este sentido, podríamos confirmar que para ese mismo año la comunidad sorda representaba el 1% de la población. Por lo que, es de suma importancia que estos puedan tener acceso a una educación equitativa, permitiéndoles así desarrollar habilidades que contribuyan a su desempeño en la sociedad. La inclusión social de las personas discapacitadas es la principal motivación para iniciar con esta investigación, cuyo propósito es brindar un aporte que garantice dentro de la República Dominicana que las personas sordas puedan tener acceso a una alfabetización, para así, desarrollarse de manera plena y que, aparte de aprender el lenguaje de señas, desarrollen como segundo idioma el español. Este estudio busca servir de herramienta a los sordos para que tengan un mayor dominio del idioma español. Será una plataforma donde podrán realizar actividades explicadas en lenguaje de señas y llevadas al idioma español, intentando así que el estudiante asocie ambos idiomas. El objetivo fundamental de esto es servirles de apoyo en su transcurso de aprendizaje exhaustivo del idioma. Educated es una herramienta que plantea un aprendizaje basado en competencias, con el objetivo de poner a disposición del discapacitado una aplicación que permita la continuidad de estudios fuera del centro educativo, es decir, que el estudiante pueda seguir aprendiendo desde cualquier lugar siempre que tenga la aplicación en su dispositivo móvil. Esto garantiza el desarrollo continuo del estudiante sin importar la dificultad o limitante que pueda surgir en el camino, ya que, éste tendría la facilidad de acceder y desarrollar sus habilidades en cualquier horario sin la necesidad de estar conectado a una red de internet siempre y cuando se tenga descargada la aplicación.

Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that they can have access to an equitable education, thus allowing them to develop skills that contribute to their performance in society. The social inclusion of disabled persons is the main motivation for initiating this research, whose purpose is to provide a contribution that guarantees within the Dominican Republic that deaf-mute people can have access to literacy, so that they can develop fully and, apart from learning sign language, develop Spanish as a second language. This study seeks to serve as a tool for deaf-mutes to have a better domain of the Spanish language. It will be a platform where they can carry out activities explained in sign language and taken to the Spanish language, trying so that the student associates both languages. The fundamental objective of this is to support them in their course of comprehensive language learning. Educated is a tool that proposes competence-based learning, with the aim of making available to the disabled an application that allows the continuation of studies outside the school, that is, the student can continue learning from anywhere as long as they have the app on t mobile device. This ensures the continued development of the student regardless of the difficulty or limitation that may arise along the way, as, this would have the facility to access and develop your skills at any time without the need to be connected to an internet network as long as you have downloaded the application.
